As for the maintenance of a polyester canvas, it is preferable to undo the canvas of the pergola before going to wash it.
Indeed, the structure of your pergola or gazebo requires different maintenance than your canvas.
If your structure is made of aluminum, it does not need to be regularly maintained.
On the other hand, if your structure is made of wood, it is a very specific maintenance and very different from that of the canvas.
For polyester fabrics, start by sweeping the surface so as to remove all dirty particles (pollen, leaves, dust, etc.) then wash. A sponge and soapy water are enough.
After that, be sure to dry your canvas properly, this step is important because humidity is a source of fungus and mold development.
